New Applicants

Applications for entry to the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program in 2019 will open at 10:00 am AEDT Monday 26 March 2018 and close at 10:00 am AEST Monday 30 April 2018.  

The AGPT Program is the leading training program for medical graduates wishing to pursue a career in General Practice in Australia. 

There are 1,500 new training places available on the AGPT Program in 2019. Applicants can apply for a training place in 2019 through their preferred college/s; the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). 

Prior to applications opening, applicants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with:

  • The AGPT Program's Handbook;
  • 2019 AGPT Eligibility Guide (available February 2018);
  • AGPT Program Policies; 
  • ACRRM and RACGP selection process requirements; and
  • Regional Training Organisation (RTO) locations and associated policies.

The AGPT Program's 2019 Eligibility Guide and a list of training places available in 2019 by college, training region and pathway will be uploaded to the AGPT website prior to applications opening in March 2018.
