Professor Simon Willcock (Chair) MBBS (Hons), PhD, FRACGP
Professor Simon Willcock is a general practitioner who has worked in both rural and urban NSW. He is Discipline Head of General Practice at the University of Sydney, and Associate Dean for Postgraduate Medical Education and Training in the Sydney Medical Program. His educational and research interests include musculoskeletal medicine, generational change in the medical workforce and the health of doctors. Professor Willcock is Director of the NSW Institute of Medical Education and Training (IMET). He is also a member director of the medical indemnity insurance provider AVANT.
Associate Professor Elizabeth Chalmers FACRRM, FAFPHM, FChAM
Associate Professor Elizabeth Chalmers is a nominee of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. She is also the Chair of the Northern Territory Postgraduate Medical Council and NT Director on the ACRRM board and of the board of the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils (CPMEC). ELizabeth has made a solid contribution to rural GP training, public health and Indigenous health matters.
Professor David Wilkinson BSc (Hons), MBChB, MSc, MD, PhD, DSc, MRCP, FRACGP, FACRRM, FAFPHM
Professor David Wilkinson was nominated by the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand. He is presently Dean of Medicine and Head, School of Medicine, University of Queensland. David was a member of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee for the period 2001‑2006. He has an extensive background in academic medical research and medical education.
Dr Michael Taylor MBBS, DCCH, FRACGP, GMAICD
Dr Michael Taylor was nominated by Australian General Practice Network. Dr Taylor is a practising GP and is Medical Director at the Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice. Michael is an experienced board member, having held positions on the boards of the South Australian Division of General Practice Inc. (SADI) and the Australian General Practice Network.
Ms Gloria Khan
Ms Gloria Khan is a Nyoongar woman from the south west of Western Australia and has been Chairperson of the Aboriginal Health Council of WA since its conception in July 2005. Gloria has been Chair and Deputy Chair of the South West Aboriginal Medical Service and Executive Director of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation based in Canberra. Gloria’s background is in nursing and she holds a degree in Aboriginal Community Health and Mental Health Counselling.
Dr Siew-Lee Thoo MBBS, BMedSci, FRACGP
Dr Siew-Lee Thoo is a GP anaesthetist currently employed at Kununurra District Hospital. Her work involves GP clinics, remote indigenous clinics, inpatient care, emergency and anaesthetics. Siew-Lee completed her GP registrar training in 2006 based in Perth and rural WA with WAGPET. During her training time, she was a GP registrar liaison officer for WAGPET, a General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) board director and GPRA Vice President.
Professor Jeanette Ward MBBS, MHPEd, PhD, FAFPHM FAICD
Professor Jeanette Ward's background is in population health, focusing on evidence-based policy and practice in diverse contexts. When working in general practice, Jeanette contributed to the original design of the RACGP Continuing Medical Education and Quality Assurance program based on adult learning principles. Her subsequent career path includes academia, service, research and policy advice at international, national and state levels to promote the scientific basis of health systems. She is currently an independent consultant with Health Perspectives.
Dr Elizabeth Marles B.Med (Hons), B.Sc (Hons), FRACGP, Dip.Ed, GAICD
Dr Elizabeth (Liz) Marles is currently the Chair of the NSW and ACT Faculty of the RACGP and a member of the RACGP Council. She is the Deputy Director of the Hornsby-Brooklyn GP Unit which specialises in prevocational GP training. In addition Liz is a GP at the Aboriginal Medical Service in Redfern where she has worked for the past 14 years. Prior to these current appointments, Liz was a foundation Director of GPET from 2000 - 2004, and has been a Lecturer in the Department of General Practice at the University of Sydney.
Dr Eve Tsironis MBBS (Hons Syd), FACRRM, FRACGP
Dr Eve Tsironis grew up in Sydney in a Greek immigrant family and moved to Coonabarabran in 1997, where she has been a principal of a private practice and VMO at the local district hospital. Dr Tsironis trained at the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Eve has served on the Council of AMA (NSW), the management committee of RDA (NSW), the strategic development sub-committee of the NH&MRC and the Medical Services Committee of NSW. She holds the FACRRM and FRACGP and is a registrar supervisor and examiner for both colleges.
Eve has recently relocated her family to Sydney and has established a new Medical Practice in the lower North Shore suburb of Cammeray.
Eve is an adjunct senior lecturer at both University of Sydney and University of Notre Dame, and values medical education. Her interests include emergency medicine, woman and child health and chronic disease management.
Dr Rachel Lee MBBS, BA, MPH
Dr Rachel Lee completed her training in 2010 and has a strong commitment to general practice work with marginalised populations, medical education and primary care research. She undertook an academic post GP during her General Practice Training program at the University of Melbourne, Department of General Practice. Her research interests include health workforce issues and generalism, the health of marginalised populations and health economics. Rachel is on maternity leave from her clinical work at a community health centre in Fitzroy, Victoria. Rachel also works as a medical editor with the Australian Family Physician, a position she began as part of her general practice training.
