Associate Professor Simon Willcock (Chair) MB BS (Hons), PhD, FRACGP

Associate Professor Willcock is a Senior Lecturer at the Academic Unit of General Practice and subdean of the Northern Clinical School of Sydney University. He is also Associate Dean at the university’s faculty of medicine (curriculum), a senior examiner for the Australian Medical Council and a councillor of the Australian Postgraduate Federation in Medicine.

 

Dr Philip Hegarty MB BS, FRACGP, B Comm 

Dr Hegarty is a practising GP and Associate Professor of Health Strategies at Deakin University.  He has held several relevant board memberships and is actively involved in community health in Victoria.

 

Dr Sue Morey AM, MB BS, MPH, FRACP, FRACMA, FAFPHM, FAICD

Dr Morey has a distinguished record in the private and public health sectors including a period as Chief Health Officer and Executive Director Public Health in the NSW Government.  She is currently the director of Morey Australia.

 

Mr Greg San Miguel

Mr San Miguel is the Chief Executive Officer of Law of the Jungle, a provider of online sevices for corporate enterprises.  He is prominent in legal, compliance, technology and management circles, and brings a great breadth of business and corporate governance expertise to the board.

 

Associate Professor Stephen Trumble MB BS, MD, Dip RACOG, FRACGP

Professor Trumble is the Director of Education, Department of General Practice, at the University of Melbourne and a co-director of the Joint Universities Centre for Education and Training at the University of Melbourne and Monash University.  Professor Trumble has been a general practitioner since 1988 and has a strong record in adult education, including distance education and computer-assisted learning.

 

Associate Professor Elizabeth Chalmers FACRRM, FAFPHM, FChAM

Assoc Prof Chalmers was nominated by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. She currently heads the Katherine Unit of the Centre for Remote Health, a joint centre of Flinders University and Charles Darwin University. Professor Chalmers has made a solid contribution to rural GP training and Indigenous health matters.

 

Professor David Wilkinson BSc (Hons), MB ChB, MSc, MD, PhD, DSc, MRCP, FRACGP, FACRRM, FAFPHM

Professor Wilkinson was nominated by the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand. He is presently Deputy Head and Professor of Primary Care at the School of Medicine, University of Queensland.  Professor Wilkinson was a member of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee for the period 2001‑2006.  Professor Wilkinson has an extensive background in academic medical research and medical education.

 

Dr Stuart Anderson MB BS (Hons), FRACGP

Dr Anderson is a GP registrar undertaking training in rural Victoria. Dr Anderson was nominated by General Practice Registrars Australia, and has a strong background in rural general practice.

 

Dr Michael Taylor MB BS, DCCH, FRACGP

Dr Taylor was nominated by Australian General Practice Network. Dr Taylor is a practising GP and is Medical Director at the Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice. Dr Taylor is an experienced board member, having held positions on the boards of the South Australian Division of General Practice Inc. (SADI) and the Australian General Practice Network.

Ms Gloria Khan

Ms Khan is a Nyoongar woman from the south west of Western Australia and has been Chairperson of the Aboriginal Health Council of WA since its conception in July 2005. Gloria has been Chair and Deputy Chair of the South West Aboriginal Medical Service and Executive Director of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation based in Canberra. Gloria’s background is in nursing and she holds a degree in Aboriginal Community Health and Mental Health Counselling.

Dr Siew-Lee Thoo MB BS BMedSci FRACGP

Dr Thoo is a GP anaesthetist currently employed at Kununurra District Hospital. Her work involves GP clinics, remote indigenous clinics, inpatient care, emergency and anaesthetics. Dr Thoo completed her GP registrar training in 2006 based in Perth and rural WA with WAGPET. During her training time, she was a GP registrar liaison officer for WAGPET, a General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) board director and GPRA Vice President.

Professor Jeanette Ward MB BS MHPEd PhD FAFHM

Professor Ward's background is in population health, focussing on evidence-based policy and practice in diverse contexts. When working in general practice, Prof Ward contributed to the original design of the RACGP Continuing Medical Education and Quality Assurance program based on adult learning principles. Her subsequent career path includes academia, service, research and policy advice at national and state levels to promote the scientific basis of health systems.  She is currently Director, Health Strategies Division, for the Cancer Council NSW.
